add to wish list

eil has just offered a two-sided 8" acetate of the withdrawn 1992 XTC single “Wrapped in Grey” which includes the demo version of “Bungalow”. This was to be their last single for Virgin Records. Virgin released 2000 CD singles to the marketplace only to hastily recall (most of) them, which was the last straw for Andy Partridge — the group then went on its storied 7-year strike.

I don't pretend to be in the position to be able to afford things like this but I value being surprised from time to time; doubtless few ever expected an acetate like this to turn up.

Manager?

Rodney in Springfield

An associate created this portrait of me. I’m very flattered, obviously. However, I assure you that, like Bart, I am blond. Also, I seldom wear half sleeves.

Suppressed Laughter

A: Comedy for Gracious Living by The State

B: Let The Buyer Beware, a boxed set of previously unreleased Lenny Bruce material assembled by Hal Wilner, announced as completed in 1997 (referenced here among other places)

C: An untitled Norm MacDonald album, produced by Brooks Arthur. This was announced before Norm was fired from Weekend Update by “Happy Hour” Don Ohlmeyer; apparently recording finally commenced after their involvement in Adam Sandler’s Eight Crazy Nights

All projected Warner Bros. Records releases, all unreleased and therefore eligible for the Rhino Handmade Suggestion Box.
