John Doggett, meet Tara King

This week we’ve been screening the 8th season of The X-Files. In spite of warnings that the quality took a dive after the 7th series, I am finding each episode to be riveting; Robert Patrick nailed his character with uncanny precision from the word ‘go.’ The negative reaction reminds me of the way Avengers fans used to automatically dismiss the 1968 Tara King series as being inferior simply because Diana Rigg had left… John Doggett is no Poochie, which is a rare thing to say about a long-running television show.
