Bringing Ohio Back requires even more than the peerless efforts of Elvis Costello (seen eventually on the linking page in photos taken from a benefit held on the opposite side of the continent).
There should be a followup campaign called “Take Ohio Back” wherein disgruntled residents can go to a point-of-sale location and exchange their citizenship for a place where the streets are paved and record stores abound. Okay, to be fair, we have The Harp, Gaelic Imports and Pad Thai, but sometimes Ohio seems like the breeding ground for middle-class mediocrity (its revisionist history of Rock and Roll alone is unpardonable). Or perhaps it’s just Northeast Ohio’s fault.
I keep meaning to mention this: The Monkees catalogue is now available at iTunes.

No joking around… heres a heads up for you…
Yesterday a friend voted early at a polling location in Austin. She voted straight Democratic. When she did the final check, lo and behold, every vote was for the Democratic candidates except that it showed that she had voted for Bush/Cheney for president/vice pres. She immediately got a poll official. On her vote, it was corrected.
She called the Travis County Democratic headquarters. They took all her information. They told her that she wasn’t the first to report a similar incident, and that they are looking into it.
So, check before you leave the polling booth, and if anything is wrong, get it corrected immediately. Report any irregularities to your local Democratic headquarters.
make sure you pass this along to your friends… hopefully this is all over the airwaves in Texas…
It’s telling that Beyonce’s father, Matthew Knowles, has countered the idea that UK pop artists have to break the American market in order to be successful: “A lot of people feel they have to be accepted in America, and I don't feel that way at all.” The US has been a backwater place for record sales for decades, but one seldom hears such candor from an American.
