We saw the Wallace and Gromit film The Curse of the Were-Rabbit Saturday night and could not have been more pleased… from the opening shot of Wallace looking like Jason King on.

If anything, it’s a sweet reversal of the days when the success of these badly-written, cheap-looking, preachy shows smothered any competing series that displayed any embryonic creativity. (Then again, David Lambert at tv/dvd openly salivated over The Love Boat.) Other than as documentation of the basis for SCTV parodies there is no justification for the continued existence of these horrible series.
