Mason Ltd.

Genesis Publications has produced a limited edition of Nick Mason’s biography Inside Out: A Personal History Of Pink Floyd which comes with a ‘box of delights&rsquo whose contents include two prints by Storm Thorgerson, 12 postcards, a shirt and a one-of-a-kind Polaroid print of the author. At £750, somewhat beyond my budget. (The book itself is tremendously enjoyable, however.)

Fogerty on Fantasy??

10 September 2005, 00:14

I was aware of a listing for an upcoming release, which everyone presumed was a reissue of his first solo album, but could not have guessed in a million years that John Fogerty would return to Fantasy. (Coming on tomorrow’s Armour of Rod: “Apple Records Catalogue Now Available on iTunes”.) Even with new ownership, it’s a complete surprise. I hope John was offered back some of the rights he sacrificed in order to get out of the draconian contract he was held to after Credence dissolved. A career retrospective, The Long Road Home is out 1 November.

Roger Waters

6 September 2005, 11:11

Unsurprisingly, The Pink Floyd have turned down an offer of £136 million for a final tour—no one was seriously entertaining this. What is surprising is how warm Roger Waters has been toward the idea of playing with the group yet again, and how grumpy David Gilmour has been toward the whole idea.
