Apart from all the aliens and death, I wish 1980 had been like this… everyone dressed in Sylvia Anderson, driving cool, hyper-angular cars on their way to parties with “Get Back” playing on the stereo. The occasional (always tasteful) use of Beatles music in ITC shows demonstrates Sir Lew Grade was less irresponsible as owner of Northern Songs than Michael Jackson… after all, while the publishing company was Lew Grade’s, he at least used it to finance The Protectors and The Persuaders!
